When you're searching opportunities and are on a page that isn't 1 and click into a volunteer project and then click "back" to go back to the "Search opportunities" page, it takes you all the way to page 1 instead of the page you were on.

Allow the option to NOT notify someone when signing them up for a volunteer event
Sometimes we sign up volunteers AFTER an event has already ended and it is not necessary to notify them - in fact we would prefer them to NOT get an email - so this would be a really handy check box on the "Add Participant" page. -
