For clients with manual match approvals and tight match caps, adding matches before they are approved can inflate and then lower fundraising counts. This creates an inconsistent and unreliable experience with Fundraising in YC.

As part of the 24.3.0 release on March 5, we updated the progress bar on the Peer to Peer Fundraiser page to only include matches in the calculated total once they have been approved.
It's only really a match once it is approved (a transaction won't be created before approval), so this would ensure that accurate numbers are showing. If not all matches are approved in the end, then the fundraising total is actually lower than the amount showcased in the feature as it's build now.
Waiting to add the match to the total until after the approval happens ensures all numbers are accurate.
This will also be helpful if we run into a situation where a match cap is met.
Applying only 'approved' matches to the thermometer also seems to match most end users' expectation/understanding of the totals presented. This would eliminate a lot of confusion and volatility.
At this time we are unable to utilize this module. This update would make the YC product much more valuable.
This would be really helpful to ensure that the most accurate fundraising totals are being shown / communicated broadly to employees. Thanks for suggesting this!
