We often instruct volunteers NOT to download the calendar invitation, and encourage organizers to create and send their own calendar invitations because the standard invitation spans a longer date or time range than when volunteers should actually arrive at the event, or it does not include critical information e.g. 'meetup instructions'. (e.g. some virtual events span an entire fiscal year, and the invitation blocks an entire 365 days on a calendar).
