HR files allow for segmentation, but they do not allow for default employee role to be customized. This means role assignment for standard employees requires a manual import for entire segments.

Ex. US and Mexico employees are the only default employees that should be able to create events.

Our workaround is manually adding US and Mexico users to a new role instead of the HR file doing that work for the client. If we can link to segments with custom functionality, let's allow clients to link employees to their proper permissions based on geography or HR file traits.
