Match Cap Within a Match Cap

It would be helpful if the system allowed administrators to cap certain kinds of matching gift requests without separating into two different match programs. For example, our Company's annual match cap per employee is $3,000 - up to $1,000 of which CAN be payroll deduction matches, but doesn't have to be. If an employee elects not to give via payroll deduction, they still have their entire $3,000 match available. There isn't a way to cap payroll matches in the system, while still feeding that match total into an employee's annual match cap. During our annual pledge campaign, we have to monitor payroll match requests to ensure they don't exceed $1,000, and when they do, we have to manually update them to ensure they comply with our $1,000 limit. It is incredibly time consuming and is a source of frustration for both our team and our employees.

At this time you do have the ability to set a match program cap within the program that will only allow users to match a certain amount of the larger match cap on that program. The field is labeled "Program Specific Cap". Feel free to reach out to your CSM to see this. Thanks!

We have a similar situation and would benefit from enhancements to how the match program rules work. We allow matching based off of the employees donation amount, not the company's donation, as some nonprofits receive a 1:1 match and others receive a 2:1 match. More flexibility with how the match rules are set up would likely help many companies.
